'Feeling greedy!' - Brown wants more rainbow jerseys after latest Australia glory

Grace Brown’s farewell to cycling took another remarkable turn as she led Australia to victory in the Mixed Team Trial at the UCI Cycling World Championships.
It came just days after the 32-year-old took the title in the Individual Time Trial. Australia pipped Germany to the title by 0.85 seconds, with Italy finishing third.
Switzerland were favourites going into the event in Zurich, having been champions for the past two years, but they could not reproduce their previous glory and finished eighth.
After a gruelling 53.7km of racing, which featured 984m of climbing, Australia finished in 1:12:52.28, with Germany posting a time of 1:12:53.13. Italy were eight seconds further back.
Speaking after the race, Brown said: “I think I’m feeling a bit greedy, need a few more rainbow jerseys in my closet but this one’s really nice, a great vibe, to do it with the whole Aussie crew, really exciting.
“When it's that close in the end, there’s so many dips on a course like this where you can make and lose time so it's hard to say which bit gave us that less than a second ahead of Germany but we all dug deep when we could.”

Australia snatch world title by under a second in Mixed Team Time Trial

Brown raced alongside Brodie Chapman and Ruby Roseman-Gannon, while their men’s team consisted of Michael Matthews, Ben O’Connor and Jay Vine.
“It was a hard day,” Matthews said. “There wasn’t much recovery out there so we really had to try and stick together as a team as much as possible and just keep that speed as high as possible.
“I think we came through with the fastest time so we were quite confident from there and we knew we had a really good, strong women’s team to finish it off.
“We came in confident, but you never know until we all cross the finish line and to win it here, now, I think we’re still in a bit of shock at the moment.
“But I think once it sinks in that we’re world champions in the team time trial we can really enjoy it much more,” he said.
