A double from Luis Diaz alongside a Darwin Nunez goal helped Liverpool romp to a convincing 3-0 win over Bournemouth - providing the perfect response from their first defeat of the season to Nottingham Forest last week. Meanwhile, Dominic Solanke netted his first goal in Tottenham colours as Ange Postecoglou's side secured a 3-1 comeback win over Brentford.

Guardiola says City will make late call on De Bruyne’s fitness for Arsenal game

Luis Diaz netted twice, while Darwin Nunez scored his first goal of the 2024/25 season as Liverpool swept aside Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield on Saturday.
Arne Slot's side provided the perfect antidote to the pain of their shock 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest last week, despite initially looking to have fallen behind in the fourth minute before Antoine Semenyo's strike was chalked off after a VAR check for offside.
That near-miss was seemingly a wake-up call for the hosts who established a three-goal cushion within a dominant 11-minute spell in the first half, led by a quickfire double from Diaz.
The Colombia international latched onto Ibrahima Konate's long ball to round Kepa Arrizabalaga and fire home on 26 minutes.
Two minutes later, Diaz was found on the left-hand side of the box by Trent Alexander-Arnold, with the forward confidently sliding the ball under Arrizabalaga to extend his strong start under new Liverpool boss Slot - scoring his fifth in as many Premier League appearances this season.
Nunez capped off the scoring in stunning style, eight minutes before half-time, as he cut in from the right flank before curling a spectacular left-footed strike into the far corner for his first goal of the campaign.

solanke opens spurs account

Tottenham recovered from Bryan Mbeumo's early strike to beat Brentford 3-1, as Dominic Solanke netted his first goal for Ange Postecoglou's side.
The visitors stunned the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Mbeumo opening the scoring within 22 seconds.
Postecoglou has faced numerous questions over his side's defending in recent weeks, but their resolve and character was on full display as Solanke got them back on level terms seven minutes later - before Brennan Johnson scored his second goal in as many games to establish a lead on 28 minutes.
James Maddison made sure of victory with a goal five minutes from time - helping Spurs return to winning ways at home after the disappointment of their 1-0 derby defeat to Arsenal last weekend.

villa fight back for win

Aston Villa's fortunes continue to cash in as they backed up their maiden UEFA Champions League victory with a 3-1 win over Wolves at Villa Park.
It took until the 73rd minute for Unai Emery's side - who fell 1-0 behind in the 25th minute to Matheus Cunha's strike - to burst into action.
Ollie Watkins grabbed the equaliser, before Ezri Konsa netted a dramatic go-ahead goal two minutes from time.
Jhon Duran scored yet again after being introduced as a substitute - his fourth from as many cameos so far this season - to make sure of victory in stoppage time, sitting Villa in a provisional third place in the Premier League table.

fulham topple newcastle

Fulham continued their strong start to the season with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Newcastle United at Craven Cottage.
Raul Jimenez grabbed the opener on five minutes, while Emile Smith Rowe continued to impress in Fulham colours and doubled the hosts' lead mid-way through the first half.
For the third consecutive match, Harvey Barnes got on the scoresheet for Newcastle, but Eddie Howe's side could not mount a comeback and Reiss Nelson sealed the victory, making it 3-1 in stoppage time.
Meanwhile at the King Power Stadium, Everton managed to arrest their losing run to record their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.
Sean Dyche's side remain rooted in the bottom three alongside Wolves and newly promoted Southampton, who were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow newcomers Ipswich Town.
In the early kick-off and TNT Sports' featured match, Chelsea swept aside a turgid-looking West Ham United 3-0 at the London Stadium.
