Carlos Alcaraz aims to 'sit at same table' as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal after Wimbledon title

Carlos Alcaraz has set his sights on joining the likes of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal at the top of the tennis mountain after winning his fourth Grand Slam at Wimbledon. The Spaniard was superb during his emphatic victory on Centre Court, dispatching Djokovic in straight sets having also beaten the Serbian star in less-convincing fashion at last year's tournament.
Carlos Alcaraz wants to follow in the footsteps of the tennis legends who came before him after securing back-to-back Wimbledon titles with a convincing victory over Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz made light work of the seven-time Wimbledon champion, storming to a 6-2 6-2 7-6(4) win on Centre Court.
The Spaniard beat Djokovic in last year's final, and now has four Grand Slams to his name, but he still has a long way to go to match the likes of Djokovic (24), Roger Federer (20) and Rafael Nadal (22).
However, Alcaraz admits he is targeting a place on the table with the greats of the game after a blistering start to his tennis career.
"At the end of my career, I want to sit at the same table as the big guys," he said. "That's my main goal. That's my dream right now.
"It doesn't matter if I have already won four Grand Slams at the age of 21.
"I really want to keep going. I will try to keep winning and end my career with a lot of them [Grand Slams].
"I'm really happy with the work that I'm doing with my team. I'm really proud of myself, of all the things that I'm doing.
"Everything we have done already has been unbelievable, an amazing journey so far.
"As I said, I really want to keep going, to keep improving, to keep growing up, try to keep winning."
Djokovic holds the record for winning the most men's singles Grand Slams with 24.
Alcaraz refused to say how many he would like to end his career with, insisting he wants to enjoy the journey.
"I don't know what is my limit," he said. "I don't want to think about it.
"I just want to keep enjoying my moment, just to keep dreaming.
"So let's see if at the end of my career if it's going to be 25, 30, 15, four. I don't know.
"All I want to say is I want to keep enjoying it and let's see what the future brings to me.
"It is an amazing feeling for me to be the champion here at Wimbledon back-to-back.
"It is great. I'm really proud and really happy about it."
Alcaraz believes he is growing in confidence after recording a far more-emphatic victory over his Serbian rival than the previous year.
"I felt like I wasn't new any more," he added. "I've been in this situation before.
"What I did wrong last year, I tried not to repeat it, be better on that side. Yesterday, I was calmer than last year."
